I live in New York. I am a comedian, writer and actor. My day job is blogging for VH1.com. I write about the silly things celebrities and pop stars do, so you know...God's work.

You may have seen my writing on many other reputable websites (The Huffington Post, Hello Giggles, xojane.com, The Hairpin, Splitsider, The FW, etc.). I also write crazy blogs about Game of Thrones, Magneto and Jeff Goldblum.

I don't want to talk about anything with you except Star Trek Into Darkness.

You Must Be Joking: Michele Bachmann's Running for President?

comediva:

Now, I’m not trying to be a hater, comedivas.  Really, I’m not.  I’m thrilled that boobs are no longer an impediment to running for President of United States.  But why does it seem like in order to get even close to the White House, you gotta be kind of a crazy b*tch?

Yeah…but this means she’s in the news. When women are in the news for politics, that means there’s more opportunities for women in political humor. Who dominated the comedy landscape during the last election? Oh, right…Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Bad for the country, good for ladies in comedy.

Meet Amy Myers, the teen who challenged Michele Bachmann to a debate

”[…] Myers says she has nothing personal against Bachmann — she just thinks her ceaseless stream of gaffes and inaccurate statements are an embarrassment to all women with political ambitions.
“It took until the 19th amendment for women to be able to vote, and now it seems like the most famous women in politics are kind of jokes,” Myers says.
“You’ve got Christine O’Donnell, who’s best known for her reputation as being a witch, then Sarah Palin, and the controversy with her and the shooting in Arizona, and then you’ve got Bachmann.”
Bachmann may not realize it, Myers says, but her reputation as a truth-mangler makes it harder for young women to be taken seriously in politics.”

I really, really hope this debate happens.

This is the first I’m hearing of this, but man, this girl is excellent and I hope it happens too.

Oh my God, she has braces and likes horses. Go Amy Myers!
