I live in New York. I am a comedian, writer and actor. My day job is blogging for VH1.com. I write about the silly things celebrities and pop stars do, so you know...God's work.
You may have seen my writing on many other reputable websites (The Huffington Post, Hello Giggles, xojane.com, The Hairpin, Splitsider, The FW, etc.). I also write crazy blogs about Game of Thrones, Magneto and Jeff Goldblum.
I don't want to talk about anything with you except Star Trek Into Darkness.

Last night, a gentleman caller and I wound up at the Burp Castle on 7th Ave. Now, I had been there years and years before with Jen and Eli and Jim Bob, but I was so tired from a Bolt Bus journey that I didn’t remember specifics about the bar.
1) It’s called the Burp Castle
2) There’s no loud talking aloud, so every five minutes the bartender would “Shhh!” everyone like a librarian. I loved this. It sounds awful, but it meant you could actually carry on a conversation. Also, the “Shhh!” noises came at comically timed intervals.
3) There are dragons and shit painted on the walls!
4) Everything is served in wine glasses.
5) It’s called the Burp Castle.
That’s all.
Hey remember two months ago when I blogged about a tiki bar called the Hurricane Club opening? Turns out it’s not quite a tiki bar.
luckypaperstars and I went there last night, and I kind of knew something was up the moment I got there and the outside looked less like Dick’s Last Resort and more like the supper club Kermit takes Miss Piggy to in The Great Muppet Caper. Still, we went in. Dudes, everyone looked wicked fancy. Cocktail dress/business suit like fancy. The drinks are expensive, but worth it because they come in gourd boats and are made with top shelf liquor. The wait staff wear these hilarious outfits that make them look like bellhops from a hotel in Bermuda that James Bond frequents. Amazing. luckypaperstars and I definitely want to go back, but preferably when it’s not raining and our hair is curled and we’re dressed up like B-list movie stars going to the premiere of a low budget romantic comedy.
Last night I met my friend Mark at Vlada for happy hour. They specialize in fruit-infused vodka they make on the premises. There’s also an ice bar that runs the length of the entire bar to keep your drink at optimal temperature. I had a cherry vodka with tonic (for $4!!). It was dynamite. Like a Shirley Temple meets diet cranberry ginger ale—but with alcohol in it! I can’t wait to go there again. The only drawback was I was the only lady/straight person, so I felt a little bit like a sad, single cliche. But the vodka was worth it.
Last night, my friend, Abel, and I went to the Raines Law Room. It is a super classy speakeasy themed bar with comfy chairs, delicious cocktails and killer ambiance. I almost don’t want to blog about it because I want it to stay a secret little place (There’s no sign on the door. You have to ring a doorbell and hope they let you in.). However, I can tell you right now it is now at the top of my list of cool places to bring friends in NYC.
